October 30, 2026
History enthusiasts and firearms collectors have an opportunity to step back into the early days of the American republic when Historic Rock Ford, in partnership with the Kentucky Rifle Association, hosts a two-day Pennsylvania Long Rifle event on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13 and 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This special event offers a unique look at the craftsmanship that helped shape a nation, set against the backdrop of one of Lancaster County’s most significant historical sites.
Discover the artistry and tactical significance of the iconic Pennsylvania long rifle with various activities. Event admission includes a self-guided tour of the General Edward Hand Mansion, the historic home of George Washington’s Adjutant General. This event marks the final opportunity to view the "Lancaster's Revolutionaries" 2026 Focus Exhibit in the John J. Snyder, Jr. Gallery of Early Lancaster County Decorative Arts before it closes.
There will be rifle identification, so bring your antique rifle to be identified by an expert (flintlocks only, no guns that use cartridges or are post-1830 permitted). There will also be rifle making demonstrations.
General admission, either day will be $10, $5 for members of the Kentucky Rifle Association and members of the Rock Ford Foundation.
Historic Rock Ford is located at 881 Rockford Road, Lancaster, Pa.
