Untold Stories Lecture Series

Historic Rock Fords Untold Stories Lecture Series welcomes Samuel C. Slaymaker as he presents The Patriots Next Door: Revolutionary War Veterans at Woodward Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. This presentation will be held in the Langmuir Education Room on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn. The lecture will be approximately one hour. Admission is for the lecture only and does not include the Snyder Gallery or Hand Mansion. General admission tickets are $10 and may be purchased at www.HistoricRockFord.org/special-events. Historic Rock Ford is located at 881 Rock Ford Road, Lancaster, Pa., and is comprised of the General Edward Hand Mansion and the John J. Snyder, Jr. Gallery. It is owned and operated by the Rock Ford Foundation, a private, not-for-profit corporation. Samuel C. Slaymaker was executive director of the Rock Ford Foundation from 2005 to 2024 and now serves as director emeritus, while contributing extensively to local historical and community boards. He is a 1986 Trinity College history graduate with a J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law (1989) and an M.A. in American History from Millersville University (2005). He moved from a legal career as a federal law clerk and attorney to leadership in historical preservation, serving as executive director of the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland (2000 to 2004) prior to being appointed at Rock Ford.
