Untold Stories Of The Revolution Lecture Series Next Presentation Set For April 12

April 03, 2026

On Sunday, April 12, Historic Rock Fords Untold Stories of the Revolution Lecture Series welcomes Mickey Herr as she presents, That One Day Women Will Be Treated and Thought of the Same Way as Men: Considering Womens Contributions to Colonial Pennsylvania. Herr will share highlights from her research into Colonial Pennsylvania women, a process of discovery which caused her to rethink everything she thought she knew. She found ministers, interpreters, diarists, an inventor, a fur trader, and more. This revelation became the catalyst for a project of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, For the Common Good: The Women Who Shaped Our Nation, a nine-part docuseries featuring women who made important contributions to the founding of America. Herr will highlight Lancaster-area ladies, including Ann Wood Henry, the first woman to hold public office in Pennsylvania. This presentation will begin at 2 p.m. in the Langmuir Education Room located on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn. Visitors may park in the area located behind the barn. Prior to the lecture, attendees may visit the Snyder Gallery and the 2026 Focus Exhibit. The Snyder Gallery closes at 4 p.m. About the presenter: Mickey Herr is a writer, storyteller, public historian, and communications strategist.
