Wehrlys To Hold Benefit Auction For St. Judes Charity Event Will Take Place On April 8

By Karl Pass - March 28, 2025

Wehrlys Auction Service of Glen Rock, Pa., held its first St. Jude benefit auctionin 2003, selling two St. Jude neck ties that raised $1,450 for the organization. They sold twomore neck ties the following year along with about 25 cakes that were donated. The year after that, they sold an array of craft items. This annual benefit event has grown considerably and is now a sizable auction. All of the money goes to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Wehrlys does the auctioneering, and the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association (PAA) Central Chapter is heavily involved. Last year, they had about 20 regional auctioneers volunteer their time, and the event raised $33,500. This charity auction will be held on Tuesday, April 8, at 4 p.m. Wehrlys Auction Service is located at 4067 Snyder Road, Glen Rock, Pa. For the 22nd Benefit Auction, items donated include a two-gallon stoneware Pfaltzgraff jug, a new pedal car, a new Stihl hedge trimmer, several quilts, a $250 dollar check, and gift certificates from various businesses. There will also be cakes, pies, cookies, and candy. Once again, Scott Wehrley will sell two piglets from Pig Hollow Farm. The Pigeon Hill Pioneer bluegrass band will perform a short set at 8 p.m. to conclude the evening. To learn more, call 717-235-4146
