Woodworking Tools At The Emporium
April 02, 2021
As the cold lingers, Emporium dealers are looking forward to spring. In March, the shop celebrated St. Patricks Day. While Passover and Easter are in April, many of the tool dealers at the Historic Burlington Antiques and Art Emporium are filling their cases and booths with antique tools. There will also be spring-related decorative collectibles such as rabbits, chicks, leprechauns and floral accessories. The Emporium sales display case located by the front door will be devoted to carpenter tools for the month of April. Customers may purchase planes of all kinds: single planes, double planes and moulding planes. During the 1800s, carpenters would have their names stamped into the wood of their tools to identify them if misplaced. Other types of tools on display for purchase will include chisels, draw knifes, saws, drills, measuring tools, plum-bobs, and more. The Emporium is located at 424 High St., Burlington City, N.J. Due to Coved-19, the Emporium is closed on Mondays but open the remainder of the week. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday, with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Customers are asked to wear a mask at all times. Temperatures are taken upon entering, and shoppers are asked to use the provided hand sanitizer. The Emporium takes great pride in keeping customers and dealers as safe as possible. Happy antiquing.
